Yesterday I discovered that Lebanon had withdrawn from Eurovision because in order to participate they'd have to show the Israely entry and because of their problems with Israel they wouldn't do that and agreed to pull out of the contest. This is Eurovision. Lebanon is not in Europe, It therefore shouldn't be allowed in. I know any country which is a member of the EBU, can enter, but only European broadcasters should be allowed in the EBU anyway. I can understand why Israel are in there because most of their people left Europe after World War 2 though there are people who went there from other places. Bulgaria and Moldova are entering for the first time, and I have no problem with that because They are in Europe.
I absolutely agree with Lebanon's decision why on earth should they be forced into recognising Israel, when Israel, have done nothing to recognise the rights of Palestinian people to live free and molested in their own country...is their disgust really so difficult for you to understand
Well, why Turkey and quite frankly, why Israel, neither of these countries belong to Europe, regardless of the population origin. Trust me, if any nation, European or not, can come up with something better than the type of songs we've been seeing in Eurovision I certainly welcome them .
Well my point is, Lebanon isn't in Europe, and it doesn't have to recognise Israel, juxst show their entry. It shouldn't be allowed in Eurovision regardless of whether it'll recognise Israel or not. Otherwise we might as well make it world vision and invite the world to join.
yeh well quite frankly why anyone would choose to enter eurovision is beyond me. more to the point, quite why anyone would choose to enter for their country ... I mean if ever you needed a nail in your professional coffin, apart from with one or two noteable exceptions, all you need do is enter eurovision!
